Electrical enclosures are vital components of many electrical systems, serving to enclose and protect a variety of electrical equipment such as switches, knobs, buttons, displays, and other electrical interfaces and junctions. They protect the electrical equipment on the inside from the elements and, to a certain degree, from electromagnetic interference (EMI) while at the same time preventing certain occupational hazards (like electric shock) to users, operators, and passersby on the outside.

Electrical enclosures can be made from a wide range of materials, offering an equally wide range of protection against dust, temperature, water, ice, corrosive agents, and more.

Boxco Electrical Enclosures: What We Offer Here

Here at Products for Automation, we sell three different broad classes of Boxco products among our other electrical enclosures, specifically the P Series Hinge & Latch Enclosures, the S Series Screw Cover Enclosures, and the Dual Door AGF/AGD Enclosures, each of which is rated to offer a specific level of protection and made with unique features.

P Series Hinge & Latch Boxco Enclosures

The P Series Hinge & Latch Enclosures that we offer here are available in sizes ranging from 90x120x70mm on the smaller end all the way up through 630x820x285mm with various intermediary sizes to suit a wide range of needs.

These electrical enclosures are made from either ABS plastic or polycarbonate. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, or ABS, is an exceptionally tough thermoplastic polymer. For its part, ABS has excellent resistance to chemicals, some corrosive agents, and physical impacts and abrasion. It also offers great dimensional stability and equally commendable electrical properties (It has low electrical conductivity, helping to shield EMI interference and protect against shock).

As far as polycarbonate is concerned, it is extremely strong (up to 250 times stronger than glass), but lightweight. It also offers excellent insulation. Polycarbonate is also exceptionally resistant to UV light, making it potentially suitable for installation in outdoor areas; the polycarbonate models are also glass fiber reinforced, making them even stronger.

The P Series of electrical enclosures also feature a protruding roof over the tops of the hinged doors. These provide an additional layer of protection around the top of the enclosure where the door meets the body.

These electrical enclosures feature extremely durable, molded hinges. The latches are made with stainless steel and durable plastic and are corrosion resistant, very strong, and easy to use. They are also compatible with wall mount brackets and locking latches, in which case they can be equipped with integral keyrings, keeping the keys within easy reach if the box must be locked.

These models are available with either a clear lid or solid covered lid, depending on the requirements of the location.

S Series Screw Cover Boxco Enclosures

The Boxco S Series Electrical Enclosures that we offer here are also available with screw cover lids, in case additional enclosure security is required and a hinged lid will not provide it. These are available in 50x65x45mm up through 380x560x180mm on the higher end.

Like the hinged series electrical enclosures, these are also made from either ABS plastic or polycarbonate, which both offer exceptional durability, stability, and resistance against outside impact and elements. Again, in the case of the polycarbonate, they are reinforced with glass fibers and UV resistant, for extra utility for outdoor locations.

The S Series Electrical Enclosures exhibit exceptional durability as their recessed screw threads are molded directly into the injection molding of the housing, offering unparalleled strength. The covers on these enclosures lift off completely for greater ease of access and their designs contain no knockouts, which provide additional protection against outside ingress (subject to individual rating). These electrical enclosures can also be configured with mounting brackets.

Dual Door ATF/AGD Enclosures

We also offer the Boxco ATF/AGD Dual Door Enclosures here at Products for Automation, which, thanks to their dual door design offer a second, redundant layer of protection for the electrical components contained within them. These range in size from 200x300x130mm to 530x630x255mm.

These, like the other Boxco enclosures on our website, are also made from durable, resilient ABS plastic or polycarbonate, and feature either a partial window (AGD) or a full window design (ATF), both of which offer the added protection of inner doors.

They feature stainless steel latches for added durability and extra corrosion resistance, as well as integrated keyrings in case you want to keep the keys organized and close at hand. The inner doors are also removable in order to offer greater access to the components within.
